Definition

A marketing method where the user of a service unknowingly works to market another company’s service or website.


Information

When a user of a service or website spreads the use of the product unintentionally this is known as viral marketing. Viral marketing works as one user recommends or uses a service, the nature of the service is to bring other users into the usage or the awareness of the service and then tell other potential users. As a user interacts with another users that user then exposes other users to the service. In this way many people are finding out about the service quickly and then passing on the awareness. The name derives from the virus like way word of mouth spreads.
