Glossary Detail
conversion rate

Definition

It represents the percentage of users who took a decisive action.

Information

The decisive action taken by the users can be of different form like membership registrations, product sales, software downloads, newsletter subscription, or any other activity other than simple web page browsing. There are a number of factors that decide upon conversion rates. All these factors need to be at optimum levels to achieve desired results. Some of the factors include visitor’s interest level, ease of the process and attractiveness of the offer. The interest level of the user can be maintained by placing the right user at place and right time. The ease with which the user can complete a desired action depends on the site’s usability. The level of attractiveness depends on its presentation level and its value levels.
